MOTOPONY – Okay, okay, okay…. I’ve been hearing about this band for little while now. I get it and it totally rules. It’s as if Nick Drake came back and started jamming with the Local Natives dudes. Fashion designer and songwriter Daniel Blue has quite the ear for the eclectic and unusual. Motopony’s debut album takes a handful of directions and impales them all into one sound which the band say’s is “hard soul/glitch folk”….
Also, it is kind of cool for someone in their mid twenties to just decide to start a band – Daniel Blue says “I was 27 when I first picked up a guitar, because I wanted something to go along with what was coming out of my heart. When I first started performing, I was called oppressive and mesmerizing. Which was pretty awesome.”
